Getting wet

The rains have always fascinated me... some of the fascination might have been because of the endless debates with mom n grandmom about not getting wet in rain... another might have been my desert upbringing... having lived in the dry barren desert of kuwait for a sizeable part of my life i adored the special treat of rains.... i loved to sit around and watch the rain drops pouring forth in heavy torrents or drizzle down in miniscule droplets... The need to get wet in the rain was overwhelming... at times the fantasy got to such an extent that i even started dreaming about getting wet(in the rain mind you)..

Then one day after i was free from the clutches of family rules and in the haven of bangalore, i got the opportunity i was waiting for.... i was in brigade road with some of my friends... it suddenly started drizzling... excited that i could finally do my own sexy hindi movie sequence in the middle of brigade road ,i refused to go with my friends...i ventured forth into the rain feeling like i was some on screen goddess...

Then the wisdom of my mom and grandmom dawned on me... my carefully groomed hair resembled albert einsteins famous electrified look... my white t-shirt was soaked to the skin and.. i was rather transparent! and believe me it did not look the least bit sexy... all the unwanted curves which were well hidden beneath the loose fitting tee became quite obvious when the damned thing got wet!my despicable tyres started showing.... to top it all i had on my formidable stilletoes (which my dad referred to as a stool) which decided on snapping then and there.... I was a sight.... soaked to the skin holding my now useless stilletoes and a couple of shopping backs(all those clothes were soaked too)...

From that day on i have never ventured forth into the rain thinking of myself as some heavenly nymph...
